It seems our hapless, outgoing President has been looking for someone to publish his memoir. He has a few problems, though, as illustrated by these four rejection letters.
From Perseus Books: "... the title The Hope of Audacity intrigued us, as did your pitch for 'doing something like that Marley & Me, but with Barney.'"
From the Penguin Group: "... our sales team is concerned that a 'pop-up presidential memoir' might have trouble finding a home in the marketplace."
From Farrar, Straus, and Giroux: "... we have no interest at this time in publishing your West Wing fan fiction."
From Random House: "... referring to yourself as 'an optimist who preferred to see the nearly-flooded city as "half-empty"' could be construed as insensitive to some readers."

Classic. They made me laugh!
