You're right - Joyce is a tease with "Ulysses", and I'm still reading it after almost a year! It's tough, but I can't quite give it up. And "Portrait" is brutal too, and that's maybe why I've felt less inclined to finish it. But for some reason I've never gone near "Dubliners" - and now I'm intrigued.

Wow, I've never read anything that made me want to read Joyce. Until now. Damn you! Like I didn't have enough on my TBR pile, now I have to add "Dubliners"? All right, if I have to, I have to...

I'm telling you guys, "Dubliners" is great. And Joyce's style is beautiful, nothing like in "Portrait," "Ulysses," or, thankfully, "Finnegans Wake." You'll like it, trust me.
